CENDOL LEMAN DAWI




'Jauh perjalanan luas pemandangan, lama hidup banyak yang dirasa."

Semalam kami ke Rembau N9 untuk merealisasikan ungkapan di atas.

Sebenarnya ada jemputan kenduri kahwin di Rembau. Anak saudara kahwin dengan orang N9, jadi yang kahwin semalam tu sepupu isterinya.

Apa yang amat menarik dalam perjalanan tersebut ialah persinggahan kami di gerai CENDOL LEMAN DAWI. Menurut menantu saya, gerai tu asalnya sebuah pondok kecil di tepi jalan yang ramai orang tak perasan melainkan orang yang kenal Pak Leman serta yang pernah singgah dan merasai keenakan cendolnya.

Kami singgah betul-betul waktu tengah haus - tengahari. Walaupun dah makan di tempat kenduri namun lambaian 'Cendol" itu menyebabkan kami singgah.

Semangkuk cendol berharga seringgit limapuluh sen. Ada beberapa pilihan - cendol pulut, cendol kacang, cendol biasa. Cuma Cendol Jagung berharga dua ringgit semangkuk. Tetapi yang amat menarik di atas setiap meja ada bekas yang berisi cendol. Saya tanya kepada menantu saya, tujuan cendol di atas meja itu. Katanya cendol berkenaan adalah sebagai tambahan kepada semangkuk yang kita beli. Maksudnya di gerai Pak Leman kalau kita beli semangkuk cendol, kita boleh tambah dan makan seberapa banyak yang kita mampu .

Di atas meja tu ada cendol tambahan, ada bekas air batu dan air gula . Fikirkan lah - beli semangkuk (RM1.50) kemudian makanlah sebanyak mana pun - percuma. Anihkan? Bukan ramai orang yang nak beri sesuatu secara percuma.

Menurut menantu saya itu, Pak Leman adalah pesara askar, buka gerai cendol di satu kawasan yang mungkin pernah nak dijadikan kawasan R&R tetapi tak menjadi. Namun atas usaha gigih, perusahaan kecilnya berkembang dan di kawasan gerai berpetak itulah tersusunnya meja -meja pelanggan Pak Leman. Kalaulah cendolnya sekadar cendol biasa-biasa, orang tidak akan singgah. Tetapi semalam, saya nampak ada beberapa kereta dengan plet Singapura dan Terengganu juga singgah menikmati keenakan cendol pak leman. So memang sedap.

Selain yang kami beli untuk dimakan di gerai berkenaan, kami juga beli tiga bungkus masing-masing untuk dibawa pulang.

Nak cuba, singgahlah. Dalam perjalanan ke Rembau dari KL atau Seremban. Tak tau pulak kalau ada jalan lain, tetapi itulah jalan yang menantu saya bawa. (Saya orang Sarawak merantau ke sini kerana tugas. )

TIADA KEBOSANAN DALAM HIDUP

HIDUP TIDAK AKAN MENJADI BOSAN kalau kita dapat kendalikannya dengan baik. Kita mempunyai banyak pilihan - buat tak nak buat, boleh tak boleh, mampu tak mampu, ada masa takda masa. Semuanya kita yang tentukan.

Ada teman-teman yang bersara (tidak ramai) yang gusar dan rungsing - tak tau apa nak dibuat? Itu mungkin disebabkan berubah perancangan, sebab saya tidak percaya orang yang nak bersara itu tidak bersedia. Semua orang tau - bila tiba usia 55 atau 56 (melainkan bersara atas pilihan sendiri) seseorang penjawat awam pasti bersara. Tidak ada pilihan. Kita tak boleh nak kata, 'Oh aku belum bersedia nak bersara, sambung ajaklah kerja." tak boleh.

Justeru bila seseorang itu berusia 50an, dia sepatutnya telah menyediakan diri untuk bersara.

Kepada pesara dan bakal pesara, saya nak kongsikan beberapa tips atau petua yang saya petik dari buku 'DUNIA PESARA' oleh Haji Abdul Halim Haji Hassan. Daripada 40 yang diberikan saya nak petik 5 daripadanya. Yang lain kalau perlu esok-esoklah kita buat, ok?

Menurut Haji Abdul Halim, seseorang pesara akan berhadapan dengan pelbagai situasi baru. Oleh yang demikian:

1. Cari Kebahagiaan dan jadilah orang tua yang boleh diketengahkan. Menurut penulis buku ini, baki hidup seorang pesara tinggal tidak sampai separuh daripada jumlah masa hidupnya. Oleh itu katanya, kita perlu mencari kebahagiaan, senangkan hati dan jangan suka bermasam muka. Cari masa untuk bersama-sama dalam masyarakat. Sertai aktiviti kemasyarakatan dan lakukan tugas-tugas yang bersesuaian.

2.Luaskan lingkaran pergaulan. Jangan mengasingkan diri daripada orang ramai. Sebaliknya gunakan masa yang banyak itu untuk merapatkan semula hubungan keluarga, sahabat handai atau mungkin teman-teman yang lama tidak ditemui. Haji Halim juga menyarankan agar kita mengambil kesempatan untuk bertemu teman-teman ibu/ayah kita atau ipar duai. Luangkan masa, pulang ke kampung atau lawati mereka.

3. Jadi pesara yang kreatif. Pengalaman yang luas selama bekerja pasti boleh digunakan bagi mengisi masa lapang. Pesara boleh menguruskan rumah tangga dengan kreativiti. Tetapi kreatif harus bertempat. Jangan jadi seperti seorang teman saya yang juga baru bersara. Dia telah menggunakan kreativiti untuk mengubah susun ruang tamu. Tetapi apabila isterinya balik ke rumah setelah penat seharian bekerja - dia berleter kerana barang-barang yang diletak di satu sudut sudah tidak boleh dicari. Kawan saya ni pula pelupa, dia tak ingat di mana dia letakkan... akibatnya bergaduh. Bagaimanapun, kerana dah tau perangai masing-masing, masam muka tu tak lama. Syukurlah.

4. Jadilah pesara yang matured dan armoured. Haji A Halim juga menyarankan agar pesara menjadi seorang yang boleh menyesuaikan diri, realistik dan mempunyai pandangan yang membina mengenai pesaraan. "In life, what sometimes appears to be an end, is really a new beginning."

5. You Do what you like to do and you like what u do. Saya suka bahagian ini, kerana bila bersara kita bebas dari kongkongan jadual kerja yang berdisiplin. Bila bersara, kita bebas mengatur masa, kita bebas membuat apa yang kita suka asalnya jangan merusakkan diri kita. Jadi kita isi masa lapang kita yang banyak itu dengan melakukan apa yang kita suka - pada kadar kemampuan kita.

Itu 5 perkara yang sempat yang petik dan kongsikan. Kalau anda ada pandangan atau tip yang boleh dikongsi, tak kiralah anda pesara, bakal pesara atau keluarga kepada pesara, anda dialu-alukan berkongsi pendapat atau pengalaman.
